'Years ago, Norbert and I embarked on a life-changing journey when we moved from the Netherlands to tropical Curacao. Today, we built and run two thriving businesses, Maxie Sailing Curacao - and Art of Life Coaching. At Maxie, we organize exclusive boat trips and retreats on our own 48ft yacht. At Art of Life Coaching, I offer personal coaching services myself, specializing in life purpose, mental health and transformative processes.
My background is in tourism and leisure management. Over the years, I have curated exquisite wines, facilitated entrepreneurial networks and studied professional coaching and modern applied psychology. 'I am your certified Captain aboard our cherished Galaxie. With seven years of boating experience around the globe with the Dutch Navy, I proudly consider myself a true 'veteran'. During my service in the Caribbean, I was stationed in Curacao. After my military career, I ventured into the wine industry, graduated from the Academy of Gastronomy and became a WSET Winemaster. This expertise is why we always offer exceptional wines on board.
When Hilde and I decided to make an international move, Curacao was our choice. Here, we established our businesses and I earned my Boatmaster degree at all three levels. We purchased the 'Lady Galaxie' to fully embrace the boating lifestyle - and I take great pride in having renovated her entirely by myself.
